What a fun weekend.  The pits were very busy and I took some
pics to show it.  You can see the extent of what our members will do to
comply to the proper attire rule!  Thats Lynn Pollock getting his shorts
to be long enough!  The gaggle of young folks are friends of Austins who
came over on their motor bikes to check out our doins!  They loved it
and one of them joined on Sunday, the rest will do so soon!  What a
treat it was to have them here,  that is them around the camper at the
compound having a cook out!
We also had an award ceremony during the social that was for my pit
marshals.  It was suggested that we do a rookie award this year and I
put that in motion in October for all of my marshals to vote for who
they thought was the best new addition to our team.  I recieved 19
votes.  Two were in the top honors and I presented the winner Jim Kosco
with a nice plaque and one of our CFR coolers.  The runner up Pamella
MacGregor was presented with one of our fannie packs.  The rest I gave
pit bags I made that can help keep small stuff in one place in their pit
grips.  They enjoyed the revelry and I will probably do this again next
year.  The recipients for this year were those marshals that have joined
our group in the last three years, but next year we will do just the one
year I think.
